Atlanta Botanical Garden

The Prado Northeast
Atlanta, GA 30309

The Botanical Gardens was the ATL spot Matt spoke most fondly of while we lived in San Francisco, and we made sure to snag memberships soon after moving here. The Tulip and Orchid exhibits runs throughout much of April, so be sure to soak up some sun and enjoy the gardens!

Georgia Aquarium

225 Baker Street Northwest
Atlanta, GA 30313
(404) 581-4000

This aquarium is the largest in the Western Hemisphere and is a perfect spot for any families who traveled to ATL with children (or adults sans-kids just excited to check it out, no judgement…) Make sure to check out the Beluga Whales in the Cold Water Quest Exhibit and the Whale Sharks and Manta Rays in the Giant Ocean Voyager Tanks! Just watch out for the moving sidewalk in that exhibit… one of Julianne’s sisters Very neArLy face-planted getting on it.

Atlanta Beltline Trails

Eastside BeltLine Trail
Atlanta, GA

The Beltline is former industrial rail corridor that has been paved and repurposed for pedestrian/cyclist use. The art is always changing on the path, and its a great place to explore and people watch. If you’ve got some time, renting bikes or walking the Beltline is a wonderful way to check out a bunch of neighborhoods in Atlanta. We recommend hopping on at the entrance by Piedmont Park (at 10th and Monroe) or over on the South end of the trail (by Krog Street Market). Bikes are available for rent from Mountain High Outfitters (located in Ponce City Market).
